Nordics: Day 3 |Andalsnes

Good morning! We woke up still full from the buffet the night before, but still wanted to experience the morning buffet. So we got up, got dressed, and headed down to breakfast.

We had another delicious buffet breakfast, chatted, hung out and then went back to our rooms to pack up before hitting the road again. Around noon we had packed up the car and headed on our way to åndalsnes, our final destination.

Today was our prettiest drive where we got to drive Trollstigen. This is a super curvy road  with a beautiful waterfall in the background and one of the most picturesque places.

We drove for about 2.5 hours including 1 ferry till we finally arrived to Trollstigen. We got beyond lucky as most of the drive and the day was very dreary, however, as soon as we got to the lookout point the clouds split and the sun came out. It was so amazing!

We then took some photos and continued our drive. ~5 minutes later we saw a pull off with a perfect view of the waterfall so pulled over and hopped out for a better photo-op.

We were super quick with it and then continued on our drive. We drove for a while until we arrived at our heritage point of andalsnes. We got to the hotel checked-in and then headed out for a quick hike.

We found a hike on AllTrails which started at the top of the gondola. We then rode up to the top of the gondola and started our hike. Who’s to say who was leading but we did indeed start in the wrong direction. We thankfully recovered quickly and got back onto the right path.

The path was a bit more up than expecting, but after a couple miles we finally arrived at our summit point. The clouds held off for most f the hike which was amazing cause we got views of the Fjords and mountains.

The hike was great and we captured quite a few photos before continuing on our way down. After our hike we decided to stop in a grocery store and do sandwiches and snacks for dinner.

We grabbed an assortment of goodies before checking out and heading back to the hotel to eat. We found some tables in the basement and set up our dinner table. We ate and then got ready for our sauna night.

We booked a sauna with a cold plunge. We enjoyed our little experience for an hour or two before heading in to shower and head to the hotel bar. Unfortunately, there were no local joints open, so we just grabbed a quick nightcap at the hotel before heading in for the night.

We chatted for while before heading upstairs and to bed.

Goodnight!
