We landed in Buenos Aires around 10:20am, went through customs, grabbed some water and met a driver to take us to our hostel. We dropped our luggage & changed at the hostel before going out and exploring the city. Our fist stop was to exchange cash and our second stop was to head to lunch as we ere very hungry from the long travel day.
We were lucky because our Hostel was in the center of Palermo, which allowed us a short walk to great food. We ended up eating at El Preferido, which was an amazing first meal for us here in Argentina. Katherine got a tradition steak, Ashley a Potato dish, and myself a pasta. We also of course had to indulge in a nice cool glass of Argentinian wine.

After lunch we went back to the Hostel to check-in and put our bags in our room. We then headed back out into the city to find a nice green area to walk and explore the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. On our way to park, we found an adorable little coffee shop and decided to stop in for some “pick me up drinks.” I got a delicious iced lavender latte, Katherine a Chai Tea, and Ashley a kombucha. We sat, chatted, and hung-out for 30ish minutes before continuing our journey to the park.

Once we arrived, Katherine & I went on a walk around the park as Ashley went on a light jog. During our walk we almost got killed twice (not even kidding), once by a falling tree branch & once by a herd of goose chasing after a man with bread that we happened to be in the middle of. Both terrifying moments to say the least. We continued our walk and found a beautiful little rose garden to meander around for a while. It started to rain slightly, so we decided to make shelter under some trees as we waited for Ashley to finish we run. Once we were all together again we headed back to the Hostel to use our welcome drink coupon as well as put pants on to change for dinner (we, well mainly me, were getting eaten alive by mosquitoes).

Once we arrived at the Hostel & quickly changed we headed to the lobby for a nice cocktail and in high hopes of meeting some friends. Once we headed to the lobby Ashley & I tried to order in Spanish, but it did not go well so Katherine had to step in to help. Ashley and I finally got a cocktail and Katherine a fine glass of wine. We sat, chatted and drank our drinks, but had no luck with meeting people. Once we finished our drinks, we headed back out to the city to find dinner.

We left the hostel in hopes of going to Reggio Osteria, but once we arrived they were fully booked. This ended up being the best thing to happen as we ended up at a small little pizza/empanadas place that was incredibly delicious. This place was called Orno Palermo (right across from Don Julio’s). We ordered Empanadas & a Pizza to share, both were utterly amazing so we decided to investigate the Nutella dessert pizza. It was to die for! Dinner was truly amazing despite the waiter speaking 10000 words per minute and us only understanding 1/10, but it was a great experience overall.

After dinner it was raining so we headed straight back to Hostel. Once we got back Ashley & I decided to venture out one last time in hopes of finding a little bar to go into. Sadly, after 25 minutes of exploring we found no such place, so came back to the Hostel and grabbed a drink at the bar.
We both had a glass of white wine as a night cap before heading off into the night. Tomorrow we head to Patagonia on another travel day, so keep an eye out for an update tomorrow night.

Till then… Buenos Noches!
