Today was the day we were going from Amsterdam to Madrid. We woke up around 9am and headed off to breakfast. Today was the day we had planned to go get pancakes and then walk around the Amsterdam park. The pancake club was about a 30 minute walk from our hotel. We walked and enjoyed the last few views of the canals before ending up at the pancake place to eat breakfast. We got some coffees as well as most of us split pancakes (some sweet and some savory).

Once we finished breakfast, we made our way to the large park to walk around before getting on our flight to Madrid. The park was way bigger than we had anticipated and we got quite a few steps in. Around 12:30pm, it was time to head back to the hotel to get our bags and walk to the train station.

We grabbed our bags and off we went to the central train station. Again, it was a bit challenging to drag the bags across the street because of all the cobble stone roads. We got to the train station and then quickly arrived at the airport. We checked our bag and headed to airport security. Once we were through, we found a little food court to grab food before heading on our flight. We arrived to our gate at the perfect time as they were just starting to board when we arrived.

We boarded the flight and went on our way. I slept the entire flight while some others read, watched shows, or tried to sleep. We arrived quickly, as i was asleep the entire time. Once we got off the plane, we headed to the exit to find Martina’s family.
They were so kind and waited right outside of the exit of security waiting for us to arrive. We greeted each other and went on our way to get the rental cars as well as their cars.
Once we left the airport, we headed to the center of Madrid. We drove 30 minutes to the city, parked the cars and got out to walk around the city. Martina’s family showed us around a lot of sights of the city before we continued to dinner. The main sights we saw were the Plaza de Oriente, Sabatini Garden, and the Central Comercial Principe Pío.

We then continued on our way to dinner. We went to Public’s and it was delicious! We all ordered our own dishes, I would list them out; however, there were 11 of us which seems a bit excessive.
After dinner we drove back to the Airbnb which was located near Martina’s place about 30 minutes outside of the city. Once we arrived we discussed the plan for the next day and then headed off to sleep.
Goodnight!
