Day 2: The Crew Arrives

We woke up around 10am to hopefully help out the jetlet a little. Carly had picked out an area with a lot of restaurants for us to go to for breakfast. Prior to breakfast though, we had to get a Stroop Waffle. We went to a ~gourmet~ waffle place right across the street from our hotel. They were delicious.! It was about an hour walk to the area, but we of course went the long way as Carly was directing us through the city. It was a very pretty walk through the city and saw more of the canals.

We had arrived in the area which was much less touristy and way more local which was fun. We found a cute little coffee shop which ended up having a delicious breakfast. Carly got a flat white & an omelet, Jake got an espresso & bacon avocado toast, Aaron got a flat white & eggs Benedict, Etty got an iced coffee, and I got the avocado toast with a latte. Everything was delicious and the presentation of the food was even better.

After we had finished eating, we found a cute little farmers market we walked through. We stopped in a couple cute booths, Carly & I. Bought cute little prints while Etty bought some vegetables to eat. We walked around the more local part of the city again before continuing on our journey back towards the hotel to meet up with the rest of the family (Mom, Dad, & Lucy).

We walked back a different way then we came which was fun and exciting to see yet another area of the city. We walked a bit further and then met up with the fam on the street and walked them back to the hotel. They checked-in to the hotel and did a quick outfit change before we all met up to find some food and explore the city more.

We found a little crepe stand by our hotel that look good. My mom, dad, and Lucy all got a crepe for a little appetizer so we can walk around the city. Our first stop was the brewery with the windmill attached. It was about an hour walk away, but it was on our list of places to visit so we had to visit.

Our walk was right through the center of the toning, so not by any canals which Carly was not a fan of, but it was the quickest way to go and I was leading. We did see some pretty canals towards the end as well as a TON of bikers. There were also pretty buildings and it was fun to catch up with the family while we walked. We finally arrived to the brewery and got to sit outside and drink our beer.

While we drank we came up with a plan for the rest of the day which consisted of going on a canal cruise, walking around more of the city, and heading to dinner at a Seafood place (carly had already made a reservation for). We finished our beers and continued on our way to the canal cruise. Our one rule for this cruise was that it had to be an open air boat so we could see as well as feel the breeze for those of us who usually got sea sick.

We walked a different way back that mainly consisted of canals and prettier views which was nice and ended up finding a canal cruise close to the Central train station. We got our tickets and waited around 10 minutes for the next boat before hopping on and heading on our way around the canal.

The tour was more of a boat ride as the guide let us enjoy the views and told us a little information about our surroundings. He was very knowledgeable as we asked questions and it was interesting to hear the little facts about the city. The cruise was roughly an hour and we got to see the city from a different point of view which was fun.

After the cruise we headed towards the hotel to get ready for dinner. We although did stop and get some fries from the local street vendor. They were delicious! After we continued on our way to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel quickly changed and then made our way to dinner. Carly had made a reservation a the Seafood Bar.

We arrived around 8pm for dinner and had a delicious meal. Although many of the seafood still had the eyes and heads attached which was not my favorite. We finished dinner and headed to grab a drink at the same bar we had a drink the previous night. On the way to the bar, we stopped for some Gelato as Lucy wanted some. Once we arrived to the bar, Croatia was playing Portugal in the EuroCup, so we sat down and watched the game with a couple beers.

We finished our beers and headed to the hotel to head to bed.

Goodnight!
