Day 1 (officially): Exploring Amsterdam

I had told everyone back at the hotel to bring a rain coat before we left but no one followed my lead. We started walking towards a pancake restaurant to get some food as we were hungry from traveling earlier in the day. As soon as we walked outside it started pouring rain, and only I had brought a rain coat, so we ran through the streets of Amsterdam to find the restaurant. Carly was directing us and we missed a couple of turns before finally finding the place; however, the place was cash only and we had not stopped at an ATM yet. We then left the place and found a nearby coffee shop.

We all ordered coffee, C&A ordered flat whites, J&E ordered Espressos, and I ordered a red velvet latte. It came bright pink and was actually very good. We sat, chatted, and drank our coffees while the rained slowed before we continued on our way around to explore the city.

We walked around and saw the many canals, stopped in a few shops (the flying tiger was the highlight, of course) and then continued to through the city. After a while we decided to try and find a place for dinner. We were looking for pancakes and then decided to find an Italian restaurant instead. We decided on Papa Carlos. The walk to the restaurant was about 30 minutes, and a little of the busy roads which was nice. The workers were very nice and the food was great. We again ate, chatted, drank, and then headed back into the city to walk around a bit more before we headed to bed.

We remembered that the EuroCup was occurring, so decided to try and find a bar with a tv to watch the game. We ended up finding a place in a little square with a tv and space for us to sit. We sat drank some beers, watched the game, and discussed random things lol. After the game and a couple beers we decided it was time to head back to the hotel and get a full nights sleep as we were a bit jet-legged from the red eye flight.

We left the bar and walked the quick 7 minutes back to the hotel before all parting ways and heading to bed.

Goodnight!
