Day 26
Since we decided to spend the day in Interlaken we didn’t get to Como until around 10:30. We actually trained to the Chiasso train station since it was only an 8-minute walk to our Airbnb. Once we arrived we had to walk across the border from Switzerland to Italy, to check into our Airbnb. Once we were across we quickly checked into our Airbnb and headed to bed, so we could have a full day near Lake Como the next day.
Day 27
Today we woke up and spent the entire day in Como. We were staying closer to the Chiasso train station in Switzerland than Como, so we decided to take the 5-minute train from Chiasso to Como.
We arrived in Como at around 9am. We headed straight to get breakfast because we were starving. We found a magnificent little pasty place in the heart of Como. Ashley got a plain croissant while I got a chocolate one. Both were delicious!
After breakfast we decided to walk around the lake we walked along the left side of the lake for a couple miles seeing the sights and just taking in the views of the lake. We wanted to see what we could see around the lake before exploring the town in depth. We walked for quite a while until didn’t see much coming up and decided to turn around.
We then went to look for lunch. After looking for a while, we then decided to Google and found a cute little pizza place that had amazing reviews, so decided to give it a try. We sat at a little bar table outside and ate our pizza and sipped on our cokes. At this point, it is so hard to rate the pizzas because they are all so unique and I haven’t been able to complain about a single one.
After we finished eating, we decided to go find dessert. As usual, we simply found the nearest gelato place. We both got two scoops and I think it rated as at least top three of the places I have been since coming to Italy.
Again, after lunch and dessert, we decided to walk along the lake, but on the other side. We walked for a while and saw a couple cute restaurants and bars all while appreciating the lake view. After walking for around a mile we decided to stop into a little (kinda) rooftop terrace and get a drink to cool us down. We ordered fresh juice drinks and two large waters. We sipped on these for a while, all while hanging out, enjoying the view, and of course, people watching.
We then decided to walk for a while longer before finding a dinner place. While we were exploring the town earlier in the day we saw a dinner place that looked amazing, so we decided to check it out. We showed up right when it opened and we got the last table of the night since the rest were all reserved. We got a couple glasses of wine and ordered, of course, margarita pizzas for us both. We were very thankful they had one table left because wow was the pizza amazing! I know I haven’t said a bad thing about any of the pizzas I have had, but just something about every single one has been absolutely delicious.
Once we finished dinner we once again went to get dessert. I went and got some massive gelato and Ashley got her bubble tea. We went to the lake and watched the sunset while eating/drinking our dessert. After sunset, we took the train back to our Airbnb, for a very very early tomorrow.

Day 28
Early morning travel day! We woke up at 4:00am to catch the 5:00 train to Bologna. We wanted a full day in Bologna today, so we could feel out the city and be able to get to the day trips we wanted over the next few of days. Our train took off at 5 o’clock and off we went on our early morning travel day!
